About the Role

DEPARTMENT: Marketing

We are a group of students & recent graduates creating a platform for Scotland’s Refugees to share their voice through art. Through a research-driven educational campaign, we use our online presence and creative events to raise awareness in the local community about what it means to be a refugee, with the vision of a welcoming and accepting society.

We are looking for a Content Officer for our COLOURS of Edinburgh 2019 - 2020 team. The successful candidate will be working with a team of 5-6 dedicated, skilful and highly motivated marketing volunteers. The ideal candidate should be organised, socially driven (specifically within the issues surrounding refugee and asylum seeker integration) and have experience in digital marketing, creative writing and event promotion.

 

The main focus for the Content Specialist will be to help edit blog posts, write and schedule social media content in collaboration with the marketing lead and make sure to use digital media as a way to reach social and strategic goals of COLOURS of Edinburgh.

Lead the writing of various content pieces including blog posts, social media posts, press releases and occasionally also website copy - This will be a very collaborative  process, so good ownership + willingness to work with and trust others is very important

Assist the Marketing Lead in defining the tone of COLOURS of Edinburgh for the year - helping to attract people’s attention, whilst keeping a professional yet creative and young tone

Help the Marketing Lead in standardising the tone within the marketing team - creating templates for emails and communication outreach (both internal and external)

Edit, guide and develop research findings and interviews by the research team to transform into digestible and goals oriented blog posts
