About the Role


We are a group of students & recent graduates creating a platform for Scotland’s Refugees to share their voice through art. Through a research-driven educational campaign, we use our online presence and creative events to raise awareness in the local community about what it means to be a refugee, with the vision of a welcoming and accepting society.

We are looking for one to two Graphic Designers for our COLOURS 2019 - 2020 team. The successful candidate will be working with a team of 5-6 dedicated, skilful and highly motivated marketing volunteers. The ideal candidate should be organised, socially driven (specifically within the issues surrounding refugee and asylum seeker integration) and have experience in digital marketing strategies, and event promotion.


The main focus for the Graphic Designers will be online image design, creating promotional material in both print and online and developing the visual design/brand of COLOURS together with the Marketing Lead.



Raising awareness amongst thousands of people about the issues facing refugees and asylum seekers, helping to challenge misconceptions and negative perceptions

Experience in creating and adapting visual branding and identity

Design various images for online channels (website, social media, emails, press releases etc...)

Design various event marketing promotional material in print (leaflets, posters, exhibition signs etc…)

Coordinating with the whole marketing team to make sure the amount of design work is evenly spread out - planning ahead is key here!

Assisting the Art Lead, Head of Creative (and potentially the Creative Director) and Marketing Lead in creating and adapting the visual designs/brand for the year
