We are a social enterprise eleminating migrant misconceptions through art, research & digital media.
About the Role
We are a group of young people located all over the world creating a platform for refugees and asylum seekers to share their stories. We focus on using art as a medium of communication and spreading awareness of unique and individual stories, and with it eliminate negative misconceptions spread in mass media on this topic.
Along with research-driven educational campaigns, we use our online presence and creative events to raise awareness in local communities about what it means to be a refugee, in the interest of helping create a more welcoming and accepting society.
After COVID-19, we had to slightly pivot. We are now putting more focus on our online presence, and have plans to start actively engaging with- and grow our online community of refugees, asylum seekers, artists, activists and supporters.
Following the impact of COVID 19, we are transitioning our activities to an online/digital format. Our plan is to increase our online presence and actively engage and grow our online community of refugees, asylum seekers, artists, activists and supporters.
We are looking for a talented and ambitious person, who is a newcomer themselves, to join us as a Social Media & Digital Marketing Officer to join the COLOURS 2021 team from anywhere around the world! The successful candidate will be volunteering their time with a small team of dedicated, skilful and highly motivated volunteers (co-founders and the board). The ideal candidate should be organised, socially driven (specifically within the issues surrounding refugee and asylum seeker integration) and have some experience or interest in social media management, or other digital marketing areas.
The main focus for the Social Media Officer will be to manage the social media accounts and grow our online presence through close collaboration with this year's marketing director - Moh Al-Haifi.
As a still purely volunteer-driven organisation, we're not yet in a position to pay any of our staff. However, we believe in ensuring people benefit from their labour, and in return offer 1-1 mentorship and a professional support / up-skilling path for the successful applicant. This would be best suited for someone interested in marketing and communications roles for the third sector or social impact space.

Get 1:1 digital marketing mentorship and coaching from our Marketing Director & co-founder Moh Al-Haifi (1-2 hours / week)
Add an impressive role to your CV that demonstrates tangible skills and professional experience within arts and social enterprise/third sector.
Ownership of assigned social media platform (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or LinkedIn)
Working with the Director in creating content plans to grow our online presence and increase our impact.
